We've already crossbars assemblies put together and set to the proper measurements. So now we're ready to go ahead and mount them up on the roof.
We'll take our front crossbar assembly and lay it up on top of the roof. To position the crossbar assembly properly on the front, we need to measure 10 inches from the seam where the two doors meet to the center of the front bar. The feet on this Sportrack can swivel, so make sure that they are sitting as flat as possible on top of the roof of your vehicle.Next one, we're going to make sure that our crossbar assembly is positioned evenly from left to right.
Next, we'll take the included alen key and tighten the bolts down on the mounts. We'll move back and forth from driver side to passenger side to make sure we've tighten the system down evenly.
With our front crossbar assembly in place, we're ready to move on to the rear. So go ahead and open both the rear doors.We'll go ahead and sit the rear crossbar assembly up on top of our roof.
To position our rear bar assembly, we need to measure 25 inches from the center of the front bar to the center of the rear bar. This measurement is known as the crossbar spread. Take special note of this measurement as it will be helpful in selecting accessories to go on top of your roof rack. Again we'll check our positioning and make sure the rack is sitting evenly from left to right.Next we'll get the clamps into position on our door frame, and then again using the included alen key to tighten them down. Finally we'll go back around to the four mounting points, and attach the locking covers. The locking covers are designed to prevent access to the bolt that we use to tighten the roof rack to the vehicle.

And with that, our roof rack system is installed. And that does it for our Sportrack frontier roof rack system on a 2011 Honda Civic.
